Revamping My Wardrobe

As you know, I recently started a new job and as most women do, I wanted to run out and buy a whole new wardrobe.  Unfortunately, my bank account did not allow for that.  So for the first few days I wore old work clothes that I had but really didn't feel like I fit in.  To be honest, I felt I was dressed more like an admin which makes sense since my previous position was an administrative assistant.  So, I went out over the weekend and bought a few pieces to bring my current wardrobe to a new level.  I have a lot of really nice pieces for work already, they just needed a little sprucing up.  Everyday this week, I've attempted to take pictures of what I had on so I could show you.

Above was Monday's outfit.  The shirt was $11.99 on sale at the Gap and the skirt was on sale at Express for $34.99.  The shoes I already had in my closet.

The above pictures were Tuesday's outfit.  The sweater I found at the Gap on clearance for $11.99.  Everything else I already had in my wardrobe including the shoes ;-)

The above was absolutely one of my favorites!  The dress was a Cynthia Rowley find at Marshalls that is freaking adorable.  You can't see but it has a bold gold zipper going down the back up until about the tailbone.  Since, it is a sleeveless dress I paired it with a blazer I already had (from Express) and some Jessica Simpson booties I also had my in closet already.

The above picture is from today!  I didn't wear green so shoot me!  But, I really adore this outfit as well.  The outfit was comprised of most new items.  The dress was an Ann Taylor Loft find for $44.99, the belt also from the Loft was $24.99 (a little pricey I know but I loved how it worked with the dress) and the sweater was a clearance find at the Gap for $9.99.  The boots I thought of last minute and I love how it looks and my feet get a rest from heels for once!  Initially, I wasn't going to wear this outfit until I found matching pumps but I am so glad I didn't have spend more money!

Revamping your wardrobe is sometimes very easy and other times it can be rather irritating.  You really have to know what style you trying to attain and stick with it.  If you mostly have gym attire or club clothes and you're trying to revamp to office attire then yes you will be spending quite a bit of money.  But don't throw those white tees to the side.  Think about wearing them under a blazer or sweater.  You really have to think outside the box when you are on a budget.  The goal is to not break the bank.  No point in working if every check is being spent on more work clothes!

I'm trying to bring more color into my wardrobe for spring and summer but dark colors are always my go-to.  Do you guys have any favorite stores you shop for a good deal when you need a little sprucing up?!
